Roger Federer claims he has rediscovered his mental to
clinch a record sixth title at the season-ending Barclays ATP World Tour Finals
after defeating Jo-Wilfried Tsonga 6-3 6-7 6-3. This must be one of Federer's
greatest victories.
There was so much pressure on him. His 100th final, the
possibility of his 70th title and his 6th end of year championship title and of
course an opponent who could blast any player off the court. Tsonga has always
been capable of challenging the very best and he was in inspired form once
again in that second set against Federer.
But Federer, who became the tournament's oldest winner with
his 70th final victory and will take a winning streak of 17 matches into next
season proved his nerve to fight off a spectacular comeback from his French
opponent.
